Faith Formation Programs
Welcome to the faith formation site of St Katharine Drexel Parish! Through our faith formation programs at St. Katharine Drexel Parish we strive to support our families to become well versed in the tenets of our faith and committed to live as Jesus asks us to live. The primary educators of our children in faith formation are parents. To support this commitment of teaching our faith to our children our faith formation programs are enriching and continue to grow.

Faith Formation:
Currently the faith formation program at St Katharine Drexel Parish is available to children beginning in grade one. We offer faith formation and preparation for the sacraments of First Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation. If you are interested in enrolling your children or volunteering to assist one of the many aspects of the program, please call the parish office and leave a message for Gertrude Hammond. New families are always welcome.
The program runs from September through May. Catechesis begins with the Sunday morning 8:30am family mass and continues with catechesis in our meeting rooms until 10:30am. Students are encouraged and invited to participate in mass as servers, lectors, greeters, collectors and in the choir.

Sacrament of First Reconciliation:
First Reconciliation is received for the first time prior to First Holy Communion generally in second grade. Children hoping to receive this sacrament in second grade are expected to be part of the faith formation program in first and second grade.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion:
The Sacrament of First Communion is generally received for the first time in May of second grade after the child has received their First Reconciliation. Children hoping to receive this sacrament are expected to be part of the faith formation program in first and second grade.

Sacrament of Confirmation:
Confirmation in the Diocese of Manchester is available to young people who are in at least 10th grade. St Katharine Drexel offers Confirmation in the Fall for students in at least their grade 10 year. Preparation starts at the beginning of 8th grade and includes Sunday 8:30am mass with class immediately following until 10:30am. Classes continue in 9th grade and in the Fall of 10th grade concluding with a Retreat and sponsor session. Part of Confirmation preparation includes service hours to the church and/or community.

Fall 2012 Preschool Faith Formation
This year we are planning to begin our preschool program for ages 3, 4 and 5 starting after Columbus Day. We hope you will bring your child to pray and play.

Parents Group
While the preschool program is in progress adults will be offered a Parents Group with prayer and discussion.
An opportunity for Parents to come together to pray, share and learn from each other their faith and ways to build families of faith.
