SUPPORT GROUPS


LADIES OF ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - plan a variety of religious and social activities to assist the parish in bringing members together and raising money to help the financial needs of the parish.  The popular calendar raffle is organized by these ladies. Mass and the Rosary are also celebrated as part of this group's activities.

MEN OF ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - have a special Mass once a month on the first Saturday of each month at 7:00 AM for the men of St. Katharine Drexel. This group also sponsors lectures and group meetings in the parish hall.

PASTORAL COUNCIL - The council is a pastoral commission, created to express the needs of the parish to the pastor. The Council acts in an advisory role to the various ministries, maintains a current mission statement for the church, and works on other projects as needed. Members of the council represent the diversity of the parish community. Meetings are held quarterly on Thursday evenings.

FINANCE COMMITTEE - This committe acts in an advisory role. It discusses budget parameters, plans the budget, and aids the pastor in setting up long range goals for the parish.

BREAKFAST COMMITTEE - An all you can eat breakfast buffet is served every Sunday from 7:30 to 10:30. Omelets are made to order. Our chef is Andrew Schofield who has cooked for the Sunday breakfast since the opening of the church. The cost for adults is $7.00 per person and $3.00 for children under the age of 12.

GIFT SHOP - A gift shop is located in the parish hall and is open after the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM Masses on Sunday.

ASSOCIATED GROUPS

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - are a group of Catholic men dedicated to helping members of the community by sharing their time, their talent, and their treasure. Activities are planned year round and the revenue from these social activities are used to assist those in need. The Knights are part of a world wide organization of about 71 million men. Meetings are held at the Senior Center on Pearson Road, Alton, on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.
